To anyone who’s started a business, congratulations! It’s no small feat, especially if you did it solo. No partner, no budget, no real plan other than a dream you had when you were seven. Over these years, I’ve learned that success is often a combination of luck and consistency. I’ve encountered businesses and managers who had no idea what they were doing—and I thought, "If they can do it, so can I!" But the most valuable lesson? I’ve had to become my own hero. This business is my dream, and no one else will care as much as I do unless they’re personally invested. That reality has been liberating.
As I tackle year four, after two particularly challenging years, I’ve been preparing for the next chapter in unconventional ways. One of those ways is through Reiki, and I want to share that experience with you, my GBL babes.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is an energy healing practice that promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. On September 1st, I had a session with Reiki healer Melissa, and it was a deeply restorative experience. During the session, Melissa used her hands to channel healing energy into my body, helping to balance my energy and remove blockages. It was deeply relaxing, and I left feeling lighter and more in tune with myself.
My Experience with Reiki
The session was simple yet transformative. Melissa created a peaceful atmosphere with soft lighting and calming music. I lay fully clothed on a massage table while she placed her hands gently on or just above key areas like my head, shoulders, and stomach. As she worked, I felt warmth and a soothing flow of energy, helping me release tension and stress.
Reiki works by promoting relaxation, clarity, and emotional release. For me, it was a reset button, allowing me to refocus and recharge. The benefits aren’t just physical—they’re mental and spiritual too. After my session, I felt more centered and ready to tackle the challenges ahead.
